Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, ensuring safe, fun classes that build pet-parent bonds. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail pet environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions, manage pet parent interactions, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell group/private classes across channels.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend products, and cross-train store associates.
- Participate in recognition culture and adhere to all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer skills, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise setting.
