Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively promote and sell training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training records, schedules, and store areas for safety and cleanliness.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs are essential. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and wet environments is common.
