Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer is the go-to expert for pet training services, delivering positive experiences that uphold our vision, mission, and values. You'll engage pet parents, educate on training benefits, and execute classes using our proven curriculum—both in-person and potentially online—all while ensuring a safe, clean environment in our vibrant store.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and related merchandise/services across channels.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store-area cleanliness.
• Educate associates as the local pet training SME and recognize their sales contributions.
• Handle pet welfare issues, including vet transport if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays) are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lifts over 100 lbs), standing, stooping, and working in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
