Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes. You'll uphold our vision by educating on training benefits, selling classes, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. This role blends pet expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions via phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent experiences and concerns.
- Actively promote and sell training packages across channels.
- Educate associates as the local pet training expert and recognize top performers.
- Ensure safety, cleanliness, and immediate response to pet health issues, including vet transport.
- Handle paperwork, scheduling, merchandising recommendations, and cross-department support.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
