Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments in our Peterborough store.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and driving outcomes.
• Proactively sell training classes across channels and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep areas clean/presentable.
• Act as training expert for store associates, recognize sales contributions, and foster a culture of belonging.
• Ensure safety for people/pets, handle sick/injured animals (including vet transport), recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, exposure to pets/noise, with accommodations available.
