Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Philadelphia, PA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering exceptional experiences. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to flex evenings, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
- Proactively sell and schedule training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets with urgency.
- Track paperwork, recommend merchandise, and support other departments as needed.
- Serve as training expert, recognizing associate contributions to sales.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel with strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs amid pet hair and moderate noise. Vision for depth perception essential; flexibility for varied shifts mandatory.
