Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes. Based in Phoenix, AZ, this role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and sales to uphold our mission of enriching pet lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes following PetSmart curriculum, ensuring safe, fun experiences.
- Actively sell classes via in-store, phone, and online channels; educate on program benefits.
- Manage pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain all training documentation.
- Keep training areas clean, safe, and presentable; respond to pet health emergencies.
- Train store associates on training services and recognize sales contributions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet environment.
