Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. This role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, sales, and store support to drive training program success in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, ensuring positive pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Serve as pet training expert for store associates, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend merchandise/services, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
