Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote our curriculum, ensure safe training environments, and contribute to store success through sales and education. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.
• Follow company policies and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Maintain composure under pressure in a pet-filled environment.
