Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Pickering, Ontario store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments while upholding company values.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Sales
Conduct classes per curriculum, actively sell in-store/phone/online, and educate on program benefits. Schedule sessions and maintain all related paperwork.
Pet Parent Experience
Handle inquiries, concerns via phone/in-person/online. Recognize associate contributions and act as training expert.
Safety & Operations
Create safe class environments, keep areas clean, respond to sick/injured pets (including vet transport), recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, pressure handling, and schedule flexibility essential. Physical demands include lifting 50lbs+, standing, and animal exposure in moderate-noise settings.
