Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines animal care, education, customer service, and sales in a fun, pet-filled retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize team contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are key. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
