Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a culture of belonging in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in wet/hairy areas with depth perception required. Flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork and keep areas clean/safe.
- Train store associates as pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication/organization, and passion for pets. No advanced degree required—bring your energy to our pack!
