Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart in Port Arthur, TX, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per our proven curriculum. This entry-level role suits animal lovers with retail experience, offering flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ensure safe, fun classes while driving sales and educating on pet behavior benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell group/private classes, recommending merchandise.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean training area.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, transporting to vets as needed.
- Train store associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-facing retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Strong communication, organization, and flexibility essential.
