Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences in a dynamic retail environment. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent interactions and outcomes.
• Drive sales by educating on curriculum benefits and recommending merchandise/services.
• Maintain impeccable training areas, handle paperwork, and schedule classes per company standards.
• Ensure safety for pets/people, respond to emergencies like sick pets, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and upholding policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and handle live animals in a pet-filled setting are essential. Depth perception and flexibility required.
