Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited through our Training Instructor Course, you'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone to promote classes and ensure safe, fun environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions.
- Actively sell classes, recommend merchandise, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, clean training areas, and ensure pet safety—including vet transport if needed.
- Educate store associates as training expert and assist other departments.
- Participate in Belonging culture, follow policies, and recognize team contributions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet environment. Flexible scheduling required.
