Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding company values in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
• Train store associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, noise, and wet environments common.
