Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, education, and outstanding outcomes in a fun, pet-loving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes per company guidelines.
• Educate on full training curriculum benefits and serve as store subject matter expert.
• Maintain all training paperwork, clean training areas, and ensure safety.
• Recognize associates for training sales, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
