Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver exceptional training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per curriculum, and drive sales while ensuring safety and positivity in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns and delivering outcomes.
- Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, clean areas, and create safe spaces for people/pets.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, assist departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and serve as training expert.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical tasks like lifting 50+ lbs amid pets, noise, and wet areas. Vision for depth perception required.
