Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success. This dynamic role combines animal care, education, sales, and teamwork in a fast-paced pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and fostering a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Maintain composure under pressure with keen attention to detail.
