Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines pet passion with customer service in a fast-paced retail setting, requiring flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and a safe environment for pets and people.
• Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments as needed.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, recommending merchandise and following company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
