Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun environments while contributing to store success through education, sales, and teamwork in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
- Create safe class environments, keep areas clean, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Train store associates as pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
