Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, upholds company values, and actively promotes classes to pet parents. This role combines hands-on pet training with customer engagement, sales, and store support in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to manage experiences and concerns.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork and ensure a safe, clean training area.
- Serve as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
