Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Rio Grande store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences while upholding our mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Drive sales of training classes and related merchandise/services.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Educate store associates as pet training expert and recognize their sales efforts.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed; assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, and lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+). Thrive in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
