Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent interactions.
• Actively promote and sell training programs to drive enrollment.
• Maintain all training documentation, schedules, and clean, safe class areas.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Educate associates as the pet training expert and follow company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical ability to stand, lift 50-100 lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends is essential. Depth perception and comfort with pets/hair/wet environments required.
