Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision and curriculum. Based in Rochester, NY, you'll actively promote classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success through education, sales, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes across channels.
• Educate on full training curriculum benefits and serve as store expert.
• Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, and ensure safety for people/pets.
• Recognize associates, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.
• Handle sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, bending, and exposure to pets/noise.
