Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences in a dynamic pet retail environment, acting as the local expert on pet behavior and training benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes to boost enrollment.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services/merchandise, and cross-train associates.
• Follow all policies, participate in recognition culture, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility, and excellent communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and moderate noise.
