Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, education, and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
• Train associates as subject matter expert, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
