Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers deliver positive reinforcement-based training classes, engage pet parents, and drive sales of our proven curriculum. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail environment with live animals, moderate noise, and physical activity including lifting up to 50lbs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while ensuring safety for pets and people.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and outcomes; maintain all related paperwork.
• Keep training areas clean, schedule classes per company guidelines, and serve as store training expert.
• Recognize team sales efforts, assist other departments, and respond to pet emergencies like vet transport.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility, and strong communication. Physical demands include standing, lifting 50lbs+, climbing, and exposure to pet hair/wet areas.
