Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines pet passion with customer service in a fun retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent outcomes and concerns.
• Actively promote and sell training classes across channels.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedules per company standards.
• Keep training areas clean, safe, and presentable; respond to sick/injured pets.
• Educate associates, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair exposure. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
