Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun environments for pets and people while contributing to store success through education, organization, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Serve as training expert for associates, recognizing sales contributions.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
