Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of positive pet experiences. You'll educate on training benefits, sell classes across channels, and maintain safety in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while promoting the full curriculum.
- Ensure safe, clean training areas and take action on sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
- Maintain records, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and foster a culture of belonging.
- Serve as training expert, recognizing associate contributions to sales.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
