Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited instructors actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales in a dynamic store environment. This role combines animal expertise, customer engagement, and teamwork across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions via phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Act as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
