Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Rowlett store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences while upholding our mission, values, and strategy. This role suits animal enthusiasts with retail savvy, offering flexibility and variety in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, or online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and participating in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
