Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Sacramento, CA location, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell our proven curriculum while ensuring safe, clean environments. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits across all channels.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep training areas pristine.
• Ensure safety for pets and people; respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vets as needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize team contributions to training sales.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
