Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Saint Louis, Missouri, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell our curriculum-based classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Create safe, clean environments in training areas and store surroundings.
• Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments as needed.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if required.
• Recommend merchandise/services and participate in our Belonging and Recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in PetSmart’s Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
