Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, online; resolve concerns and drive outcomes.
- Sell training classes and merchandise; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, keep areas clean/safe.
- Act as training expert for associates; recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, follow policies.
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation.
- Computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication/organization.
- Pet handling in dynamic store settings.
