Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Salinas, California, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun classes that build lasting customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness of training areas, and store safety standards.
• Serve as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in pet-filled environments with moderate noise.
