Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Salisbury, Maryland, this role involves hands-on training, sales, and ensuring safety in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to manage experiences and concerns.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while promoting curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, cleanliness, and a safe environment in training areas.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Educate associates as the pet training expert and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
