Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll foster safe, fun environments in our Saltillo store, ensuring every pet leaves happier and better behaved. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart standards
• Proactively sell classes via in-store demos, phone, and online channels
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally
• Maintain accurate records, schedules, and a spotless training area
• Respond to pet emergencies, including vet transport if needed
• Cross-train associates on training benefits and recognize top performers

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
