Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in San Antonio, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences in a dynamic retail environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to educate, sell, and shine.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while managing pet parent interactions and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
• Train store associates as subject matter expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, handle live animals, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pet hair/noise.
