Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our San Marcos store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care to drive customer satisfaction and business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean and safe.
- Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and handle sick/injured pets as needed.
- Follow all company policies, ensuring a secure environment amid live animals and moderate noise.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation from the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/hair.
