Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Sand City, California, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell group/private training packages while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, collaborating with vets as needed.
• Cross-train associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a pet-filled environment.
