Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Santa Clarita location, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Accredited instructors like you educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, training areas, and safety for people and pets.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist departments, and recognize team contributions.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and act as training subject matter expert.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays, and handle live animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
