Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer engagement, and store support in a fun, pet-filled environment. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead positive reinforcement training classes for dogs and puppies.
- Actively promote and sell group/private training packages.
- Ensure safe, clean training areas and respond to pet health emergencies.
- Collaborate with store team as training expert and assist other departments.
- Maintain accurate records, schedules, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. Must thrive in fast-paced settings with evenings, weekends, and holidays. Passion for pets and composure under pressure essential.
Physical Demands
Expect standing, lifting, animal handling, moderate noise, and occasional wet/hairy conditions. Depth perception and team lifting required.
