Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a welcoming store environment in this dynamic role blending animal expertise with customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pet training services following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions/outcomes.
• Actively sell training classes across channels and educate on program benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
• Recognize team contributions and foster a culture of belonging while following all policies.

Physical Demands

Expect to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle pets in a moderate-noise environment with occasional wet areas and pet hair. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays.
