Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Schenectady, New York, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safety and satisfaction for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes proactively in-store, by phone, and online; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
- Handle sick/injured pets immediately, recommend merchandise, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in a dynamic environment.
