Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes through our proven curriculum. Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, this role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, sales, and store collaboration to uphold our mission of exceptional pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, ensuring safety for pets and people while maintaining clean areas.
- Actively sell classes via in-store, phone, and online channels; educate on curriculum benefits.
- Handle pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and manage all related paperwork/scheduling.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and assist other departments.
- Respond to pet emergencies, recommend merchandise, and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise; flexible scheduling required.
