Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell training services across in-store, phone, and online channels while ensuring safe, clean environments. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent experiences/outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on benefits, and handle concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Act as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and assist other departments.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise/wet environments with animals.
