Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart standards.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, emergencies (e.g., sick pets), and recommend services/merchandise.
• Train store associates on training benefits and collaborate across departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
