Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives class sales. You'll uphold our vision by fostering safe, engaging environments and acting as the store's training expert. This dynamic role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer engagement, and team collaboration in a fast-paced retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions via phone, in-person, or online, ensuring exceptional pet parent outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training classes across channels.
• Maintain all training documentation and schedules per company standards.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in training areas; respond to pet health issues promptly.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and participate in our culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair exposure. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
